The Genealogy Interest Group is composed of lodge members and others who are interested in researching the genealogy of their Norwegian ancestors. Many members are also working towards their Cultural Skills pins in genealogy.
All are welcome at our meetings, beginners and experts alike. For more information, contact Burt at firstname.lastname@example.org.

Seven Lodge members attended the May GIG meeting. Members included Marvin Reed, Jeff Jorgenson, Joel Myklebust, Pat Huber, Shelley Berg Mitchell, Henry Hansen, and Burt Koske. This was a very productive meeting.
Joel and Marvin managed to link the computer connection to the TV.
Pat gave a very interesting presentation on the TV of her DNA results from “23andMe.” The results showed the movement of her ancestry as far back as 13,000 years but prior to the widespread migrations of the past several hundred years. Pat then showed her more current ancestry using “MyHeritage.”

Joel demonstrated the new website of the Digitalarkivet database from the National Archives of Norway. This appears to be an improvement over the past version.
