Software Options

Family Tree Maker - Windows, $39.95
Most members of the GIG have the Family Tree Maker software. It was reported that the 2009 version is quite good, considerably better than the 2008 version.The 2011 version is now available.

Personal Ancestral File (PAF) - Windows, FREE
This is a free genealogy and family history program available from the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. I have not used this, but the price is right - Burt.

Reunion - Mac, $99.00
There are not a lot of options for genealogy software if you have a Mac, and they are all on the expensive side. Clarissa uses this software and reports that it very good.

RootsMagic - Windows, $29.95
