Rosemaling Workshop by Tina Keune

Saturday, April 25, 1:00-4:00 p.m.

The Lodge will sponsor a Rosemaling Workshop at Norway House led by award winning artist Tina Keune on Saturday, April 25, 1-4 PM. Make a keepsake ornament and a bookmark while learning this traditional painting technique from an artist whose work has been purchased by two Scandinavian museums in the US.

Students will receive an Intro to Rosemaling packet containing: a brush, a sheet illustrating the two basic painting strokes of rosemaling with room to practice, as well as additional combinations of strokes as border ideas, practice paper, a blank book mark, a printed rosemaled bookmark, and a 1/8” thick wooden ornament to decorate. The packet also includes information about the history of rosemaling and the instructor.

Tina will also provide materials to paint the wooden ornament, including acrylic paint, sandpaper, a choice of designs, transfer paper, acrylic varnish, and ribbon for the masterpiece's final touch.

Your cost? A very modest $10 for instruction, materials, and your keepsake. Appropriate for ages 8 to 88+. Class size is limited to 10 so Tina can devote time to help all students.

Payment will be required the day of the workshop.
