Join us in celebrating Norway's Constitution Day!
If you’ve never been to a Syttende Mai Family Picnic at Carderock Park in Maryland, put Sunday, May 15 on your calendar and get ready for a day Norwegian pride. There are bunads, speeches from the Norwegian Embassy, live music, hot dogs, popcorn, ice cream, and a parade of flag-waving Norskies. All are welcome! Admission is free.
The guest speaker is Mr. Jon Åge Øyslebø, Minister Counselor, Royal Norwegian Embassy.
Directions: From Beltway I-495 take Exit 41 west on Clara Barton Parkway. Right exit before overpass for Carderock Park; left on overpass onto short winding road under the canal. Inside park entrance, turn left for parking (additional parking on the right). Please park only in designated parking areas (you will be ticketed if you park on the grass!)
