Saturday, May 12, 2018 Our lodge and the Icelandic Association of Washington DC are organizing the first outdoor Viking Festival in Manassas, Virginia. Viking reenactment groups will camp on the Manassas Museum front lawn and demonstrate daily life during the Viking era. We’ll also have a representative from the Raptor Conservancy of Virginia give a talk about falcons. Also attending: Icelandic sheep from Three Bags Wool Farm, a Fjord horse and hopefully Icelandic horses from Frida Icelandic Riding Club. The Nordic Dancers of Washington D.C and folk dancers from Iceland will perform at the pavilion. Rosemaling artist Tine Keune and fiber artist Karen Richardson will be among the artisans.
