Join us for the "Welcome to Washington and Annual Dinner Cruise.”
The cruise on the “Spirit of Washington” is a welcome for the new Ambassador, Kåre R. Aas.
The cruise is hosted by the Norwegian American Chamber of Commerce Mid-Atlantic Chapter (NACCMA), and the Royal Norwegian Embassy with the support of the DC area Norwegian organizations that help coordinate the annual 17 Mai picnic (Norwegian Society, Lakselaget D.C., Norwegian Church, Norwegian Ladies Club, and Washington Lodge Sons of Norway).
See below for a flyer and invitation to the "Welcome to Washington" Cruise. Tickets can be purchased on the NACCMA website (www.naccma.org). Tickets will be offered for $75 until August 31, in hopes that people will register sooner rather than later. On September 1st tickets will go up to $100. If you don’t have internet access, please contact NACCMA at 240-277-0420.
Please note that there is no date on the flyer. The date of the cruise is Thursday, October 3, 2013. The NACCMA website (www.naccma.org) shows the date.
Once you make reservations, you will be given more detailed instructions. The cruise is three hours from 7:00 to 10:00 pm. Departure is at 7:00 pm sharp. Guests have to be on time, because the ship holds to a tight schedule, since there are other guests onboard as well. Arrive at 6:00 pm; there is a one hour period when people can go on the top deck to enjoy the sights of the city.
Directions: Guests can obtain door-to-door directions from www.googlemaps.com. Use 6th and Water Street, SW, Washington, DC, as the destination address.
Parking: The yacht departs from Pier 4, where 6th and Water Street meets in SW Washington DC. Parking is provided by Colonial Parking, located across from the pier ($13 for cars on weekdays). There are also street parking meters: fees do apply and change will be needed.
Metro: The Waterfront Metro Station on the Green line is about three blocks away.
