Our Building Committee was established in 1959. In 1963 a building fund was established with the intent of finding a lodge home which would serve as self-sustaining Norwegian Cultural Center. In 2007 the Lodge purchased a lodge home in Fairfax, Virginia. It's informally called the Norway House and is home to many of our lodge activities, like monthly lodge meetings, Board of Directors meetings, annual Julfests (Christmas fests), picnics, new members brunches, Norwegian language classes, Genealogy Interest Group meetings, film screenings, Norwegian History Roundtable meetings, Reading Circle discussions, cooking demonstrations, Third District officer meetings, and more. It also houses the Washington Lodge Library.
