Norwegian Conversation Classes at Washington Lodge
The Language Classes usually begin at the end of January at Norway House, but it’s never too late to join in! Classes are open to both members and non-members. We meet every Thursday evening: beginners at 6 pm, intermediate at 7 pm, and advanced at 8 pm. Students can work with the instructor to decide which level works best for them.
Our wonderful, highly experienced instructor Anne-Grethe Phillips is a native Norwegian speaker with many years of experience as a certified Norwegian and English teacher. Anne-Grethe hails from Norway where she lived until she moved to Virginia about eight years ago. She is a graduate of the University of Oslo and has worked as a high school teacher in both Norway and the US. She is working as a language instructor in the Washington, D.C. area.
The class fee is $15 per evening for the lodge members and $20 for non-members, payable directly to the instructor. Students pay only for the evenings they attend and may attend more than one level per evening for the same price — e.g. you may attend both the beginning and intermediate classes.
